Euphonious Skunk was formed by Max Katz and myself as we were music majors at UC Santa Cruz. Max and I shared an apartment above a pizza restaurant where no one was bothered by loud music. This, along with a lively music major party scene, gave us ample space to let Euphonious Skunk develop and grow. Max, who was inspired by guitarist Charlie Hunter, replaced the two lowest strings on his guitar with bass strings creating a hybrid guitar. A number of drummers revolved through, but most notable was Nick Pavey who is featured on this record. Richard Karst and Mike Jerugim assisted in the sessions at the UCSC studio in May of 1997.
